TINJAUAN EFEK SAMPING PENGGUNAAN METFORMIN PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II DI APOTEK KIMIA FARMA ALAUDDIN BULAN JULI-DESEMBER 2023

Abstrak

Type II diabetes mellitus is a disease with a condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar. First-line treatment for type II DM sufferers uses metformin. But apart from that, metformin can causeseveral unwanted side effects. The aim of this study was to determine the side effects of using Metformin in type II DM sufferers. The type of research used is descriptive in nature, collecting data retrospectively. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, it can be seen that type II DM sufferers experience the most side effects at Kimia Farma Alauddin Makassar Pharmacy, namely those aged 60 years and over with the most side effects being vitamin deficiency. B12 with a percentage of 10.88%. Based on the daily drug dose used, metformin is known to be widely consumed which causes side effects, namely 2 x 500 mg (48%).
