POTENSI GEL KOLAGEN LIMBAH SISIK IKAN BANDENG (Chanos chanos ) UNTUK PENYEMBUHAN LUKA BAKAR PADA KELINCI (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

Abstrak

Collagen is a major component of connective tissue that is needed in wound healing conditions, scar tissue formation, thus providing the potential for the formation of burn healing. This study was conducted to determine the activity of the milkfish (Chanos chanos) scale collagen gel on healingburns in rabbit. In this study, 3 male rabbits were used with a weight of 1,5 – 2 kg. the back of the rabbit was divide into 4 parts of the wound area where each area was induced with a hot iron platewhich has a power 80 Watt and 240 Volt with a diameter of 20 mm for 5 seconds. Each area was treated with milkfish scale collagen gel with concentrations of 0,3%, 0,6%,0,9% and the negative control. Observation and diameter measurements were carried out every day fro 7 days. The test result showed that the administration of milkfish scale collagen gel with consentration of 0,9% was more effectivein healing burns, with a reduced wound diameter of 4,9 mm or 24,5%.compared to the treatment using a gel base with a reduced diameter of the wound only 1,6 mm or by 8%.
