PATTERNS OF URINARY MEDICINE USE CYSTITIS IN CAT PATIENTS IN MAKASSAR PET CLINIC IN 2021
Abstract
Cystitis is an infection of the bladder. Not only in humans, urinary tract infections can also occur in animals, especially cats, which is often called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC). The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of using Cystitis Urinary Drugs (FIC) in cat inpatients at the Makassar Pet Clinic in 2021. This research method was descriptive by collecting data from the medical records of patients suffering from Cystitis in 2021. The results showed In addition to the use of chemical drugs such as cephalosporin antibiotics, ampicillin, ondansetron vomiting medicine, metoclopramide, anti-inflammatory drugs such as dexamethasone and meloxicam, anti-bleeding phytomenadione and vitamins and glucosamine, there are also herbal treatments. The herbs given were yunnan baiao, ba zhen san and hua shi san, as for the 69 patients who were hospitalized as many as 20 patients who required catheter insertion.
