STUDI KOMPARASI ORGANOLEPTIK DAN STABILITAS FISIK SABUN CAIR BERBAHAN DASAR LIMBAH KULIT JERUK LEMON, NIPIS, DAN BALI

This study aimed to compare the quality of liquid hand soap produced from lemon peel, lime peel, and pomelo peel as organic waste-based raw materials with antibacterial potential. The research applied an experimental approach with product development through the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Citrus peels were extracted and formulated into liquid hand soap, then evaluated based on color, aroma, foam formation, acidity level, and antimicrobial activity against microbial growth using bread observation. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis by comparing the characteristics of each soap variant. The results showed that lime peel soap produced a clear green color and strong aroma with neutral acidity, lemon peel soap generated the highest foam with a slightly alkaline acidity, while pomelo peel soap demonstrated the strongest ability to inhibit bacterial growth with stable physical characteristics. The findings indicate that different types of citrus peel significantly influence the physical and antimicrobial quality of liquid hand soap. The study also identified formulation stability issues related to oil separation and odor development, emphasizing the importance of filtration and preservation in natural soap production. This research highlights the potential of citrus peel waste as an environmentally friendly material for hygienic product innovation.
