MASKER PEEL OFF EKSTRAK DAUN BAMBU KUNING (Bambusa vulgaris Schard) SEBAGAI KOSMETIK YANG BERMUTU
Abstract
Yellow bamboo leaves contain flavonoids, saponins, and tannins are have the potential as antioxidants that are beneficial for skin health. The Antioxidants ward off free radicals that can damage skin tissue. This study aims to determine the results of physical quality tests and irritation tests on the skin from yellow bamboo leaf extract peel-off masks. This research is a laboratory experiment using ethanol extract of yellow bamboo leaves made into three extract concentrations in peel-off mask preparation, namely: F1 (2.5%), F2 (5%), and F3
(10%) using PVA as a base film layer and HEC which form the gel mass. Physical quality tests uncarried out include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, dry time, and irritation testing. The results showed that organoleptically F1 was brown, F2 and F3 were dark brown in color, semi-solid form, and had a
characteristic yellow bamboo leaf odor. The three formulas showed the results of the physical quality test, The mask homogeneous peel-off mask preparation, pH 6.1 – 6.4, spreadability of 4.7 – 5.8 cm, adhesion of more than 4 seconds, drying time of 16 – 17 minutes, and no cause irritation to the skin. It can conclude that preparations F1, F2, and F3 meet the physical quality requirements for peel-off mask preparations and that categorized as quality cosmetics.
